I've never seen ostrich chicks before (stritches sounds just right). They are very cute - especially so when they're falling asleep on one another.
Did you know Johnny Cash was nearly killed by an ostrich? I read this a few weeks ago.
It seemed like a fitting name for them. I'm not sure if I was at all influenced by Elaine Stritch, the late actress/singer who played Trixie in a few early Honeymooners sketches. But yes, they are quite adorable.
Now I'm going to be scanning Johnny Cash's post-1981 songs for references to ostritch attacks. They're mostly herbivorous, but so are hippos and you don't want to mess with them.
