Handy man

When I Googled this guy I found out he'd been doing magic since 1972 and had even opened for Perry Como. That's some history. No idea why I've never heard of him before. He's great. Check out his multiplying card trick. The self-effacing southern accent helps sell it too.

That was fun - I enjoyed the bit where he said he'd give the guy his $50. bill back (or was it $20.?) There have been some wonderful magicians over the years, a number of whom we had the pleasure of watching when we ended every evening by watching a magician. One of our favorites was the very elegant and charming René Lavand, an Argentinian magician who had only one arm. One of his best tricks is the 'Oil and Water' which he called 'It Can't Be Done Any Slower'.

Juan Tamariz, a well known Spanish card magician, is the weird guy with the hat introducing René Lavand.

Really have to count myself as amazed by Rene Levand. Regardless of how many hands one had, that Oil and Water trick is quite tricky. He has a great, engaging stage presence in that clip as well.

Juan Tamariz somewhat resembles Paul Shaffer without caps on his teeth, but apparently he's got quite a record as a magician as well.
