NI

Seeing in the New Year with Neil Innes, who didn't quite make it to see it in with us. Great songster.

BTW, you just might be able to find a double meaning in the header here, as brief as it is.

We had tickets for his performance at a theatre in Portland but when we arrived a sign posted out front said not enough had been sold and those who still wanted to see him could go to an out of the way address - which we found. It was a small club, just a few tables, and his wife was selling cd's over on one side. He was great, very funny and an incredibly wonderful musician.

We know about the Pythons (the Knights of NI?) and the Rutles and his solo career, but he first became well known through his collaboration with Stanshall in the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band. Let's make up and be friendly.

Hello Mabel.

Yes, I remember you and Jerry talking about going to see him before. It sounded like a wonderful show. It's always nice when someone you're a fan of turns out to be a fun and personable person as well. Especially when you're seeing them in a rather intimate setting like that.

I was indeed referring to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in which Innes was quite funny as Brave Sir Robin's minstrel. And I'll always love the Bonzos. He and Stanshall made a great team. Unusual, but/and unforgettable.
