Even farther

It is rather big news―if news it be―that Gary Larson might be bringing back his baby, The Far Side, in some form or other. It's an influential comic, and a timeless one, but up until now it was buried in the semi-recent past. Larson had fulfilled his promise by the time he hung up his hat in 1995, but I'm curious to see if he's done any brainstorming since then. Or piled up massive gambling debts.

I have many favorites - among them the school for the gifted with the dorky kid pushing the door that says 'pull'. It would be great to see new ones but I won't hold my breath.

I wonder how Bill Watterson is fixed for cash these days?

I do fondly remember the one you're talking about. It would be nice to see new stuff from him. He did a kids' book soon after shutting down The Far Side, but other than that I don't know what he's been doing.

Watterson's another mysterious case. I think he mostly makes a living as a painter. He did do the cover of a collection of Cul de Sac strips.
