Constitutional

For much of the day I had a headache I couldn't seem to shake. I'd take a couple of ibuprofen and it would fade, then come back. Most of the day, like I say.

A little after dinner it seemed to have faded. Just to kind of put a stake in its heart I went out for a breath of fresh air. It was well after dark, but a nice night. We'd had some rain earlier in the day.

I saw a couple of women outside of the library. The library is closed for the whole three day weekend we have for Columbus Day. They had their laptops open and were chatting with each other. One I know from seeing her around is a little touched, but they seemed to be having a nice talk.

Sorry to hear about your headache and hope those aren't a regular occurrence. If you've been having allergy problems it may have been caused by you being somewhat dehydrated.

The nights here have been fine as well for the most part - we've had a couple of rainy ones, including the remains of Nate tonight.

During this Thanksgiving weekend in Canada (will never feel right having it in October) the library was only closed today. Happily, they had the third season of the Sopranos for us to pick up on Saturday. Overall the show is very good (Gandolfini is excellent as is Edie Falco as his wife), most of the actors are wonderful in their roles but sometimes the plots of individual programs make changes to how we'd expect other characters to behave. That can be a bit disconcerting but not so much it's affected the quality so far.

You might well be right about dehydration. Allergies do change the balance of things in your system, more or less fluid. While it turned out to be really persistent that day, regardless of what I took for it, the headache didn't come back at least.

You grew up in Canada with an October Thanksgiving, and yet the November Thanksgiving is imprinted on you. You lived here a long time as well, of course. But I think it might be because Turkey Day is such a big deal here too.

I know both Steve Buscemi and Annabella Sciorra have done extensive appearances on The Sopranos, so that should be something to see.
