It was never going to be great, but it didn't have to be like this. Kamala Harris has ancestors from the Caribbean and, through there, Africa, Asia, and Europe. I'm not the Black Police, obviously, but it's safe to say that she's not she's not solely black. Barack Obama used his mixed heritage to point towards a post-racial future. If Harris has any native advantage it's that she could outdo Obama on that front. And ultimately "post-racial" is what the people want, Well, most of us do.

Kamala Komedy Klassic
Apparently the White Dudes for Harris Zoom calls have raked in a lot of money, as have the White Lady equivalents. Given the net worth of the participants, well, no shit. But it's hard to see them winning hearts and minds overall. It's pretty much impossible to appeal to a demographic by telling them that they've had it too good for too long. This fact has been obscured by the reality that, again, the individual guys involved here sort of have.

What's interesting is that after two days nobody has posted a comment on White Dudes for Harris. It seems to have been a silly and not well thought out plan for a gathering. Come to think of it the whole idea looks dim-witted. I was sorry to see that Jeff Bridges had participated - maybe he lost a bet or something.
You're right that telling unemployed or under employed white guys it's their turn to suffer now. Why, I wonder should anybody suffer?
It's hard to care what race or mix of races Kamala might be since she's dumb as a plank in any color and what's worse it's been reported she's nasty. Considering the number of doctors I've met the post-racial age arrived long ago. You don't make positive changes by lowering standards.
I'd like to think that Jeff Bridges at least got paid. Not that he needs the money, but these people do seem dim enough to think "hey if we're talking about white dudes we should get the guy who actually played The Dude." Why not take advantage of them? It's a symptom of shallow thinking all over the place.
It's a sad fact that many political movements seem to rely on an outgroup. In addition, that outgroup tends to be defined by innate characteristics, although there's really no excuse for that now.
The two things--dumb and mean--might not be completely separate. Not being able to think through the problem and lashing out as a result. There are indeed competent, professional people of all ethnicities and knock on wood they'll make their mark.
