The squiggle

This stoat (not actually a rare stout, which I assume would be a hard-to-find dark beer) is just bopping around a rock garden. A lot of the available videos show stoats on the hunt for bunnies, ducks, what-have-you. This is something a lot of us have trouble dealing with. Cute animals kill other cute animals for food. Sometimes for other reasons. With nature as with people, you often have to withhold judgment.

Also they're really good at what they do.

I like that bit about the 'rare color changing stoat' as well since white fur is what all ermine (stoats) wear in winter. It's amazing just how much bad info gets around via the internet - likely more than the good stuff.

Then again, we've pretty much come to the conclusion that the Flat Earthers are having fun driving people crazy.
'I tell you it's a sphere!'
'No, it isn't.'
'Yes, it is.'

And, yes, sadly cute animals do kill other cute animals. I've heard that New Zealand is banning all outdoor cats. It's already far too late for many of the birds.

Yeah, whoever added the text to that video definitely should have consulted someone more knowledgeable first. It's kind of like pointing to a bird and calling it "a rare flying seagull."

Flat Earth theorists do seem to have that quality. Whether they believe what they're saying or not there's not a lot of point in arguing with them. Which obviously doesn't mean no one is going to try.

Protecting birds on New Zealand is an uphill task because so many of them are flightless. Evolution didn't expect them to have to contend with us and the little companions we tote around. I really hope they can be saved, but it's going to take some creativity.
