The forest primeval

Menagerie from Brian Yulo Ng on Vimeo.

Good Lord, this is some gorgeous work! I don't know that it has a lot of plot, but it's loaded with texture and charm. I do notice a recurrence of living things here that turn out to be not quite what they first appeared to be. And that's true. Nature is always challenging our understanding.

You're right that it's a very nicely done video. It's pretty cool that so many more tools have been developed for audio-visual artists. I still like a decent pencil myself but, as you know, I'm a bit of a Luddite. The images confirm that old fashioned still has room to entertain.

I see nothing wrong with being a Luddite. The way I see it, if every day is going to bring some new, game-changing technology, it might be necessary to develop your own defenses against it.

This animator seems to be using some old materials as well as new ones, i.e. paper cutouts and maybe some pencil drawings.
