Funny because it's true

We got onto the subject of Neil Innes a while ago, and that set me thinking again tonight, which led to this. Not sure what was up with the stilts - maybe just one of those random post-Python things - but this is vintage.

definitely don't remember this one, but always nice to see anything by this gentleman, or his former intimate associate...

speaking of vintage, we recently watched 2 classics we hadn't seen for decades: 'jaws', & 'breakfast club'. high points? for 'jaws', the 'indianapolis story', in which robert shaw decisively, once & for all upstages everyone & everything else in the movie, including the shark. for 'breakfast club'? 'lunch time', wherein ally sheedy basically does the same thing (with the bit at the end where she confesses what she did to get detention being the clincher :) )...

Viv Stanshall? Oh yes, it's certainly nice to see him and hear that cultured voice again. The world's a poorer place without him.

It's been a while since I saw Jaws but Robert Shaw's character does kind of dominate my memories of it (regardless of what may have happened to him ultimately.) There should be some kind of law where you have to bring a crusty Irishman when you go out to sea.

You know, I never just went into Saturday detention for no reason other than I was bored, and seeing that clip I kind of regret that. Also, even though it's not really my thing, I'd guess that sushi has been more mainstreamed by now, even in suburban Illinois.
