better lie low

This strikes me as a pretty great song to hear just before bedtime, despite weird lyrical content that turns disturbing if you think about it. Actually, partly because of that.

It's a deliciously unsettling song, isn't it? Odd how people look back and see a more innocent time when that wasn't really the case at all.

The pictures for that video were very nice. Lauren Bacall was always very intense.

The song has a kind of hall of mirrors, trust nothing you see quality. And yes, people remember the past very selectively, whether they lived it or just read/heard about it.
