All the people

To say the least, I was not fond of the COVID lockdowns, and am hoping that the past tense is appropriate here. But there was sort of an upside in that they cleared out the buses, meaning buses were also more likely to be on time. Now buses are back to being crowded, and also in some cases being twenty minutes behind schedule.

The good news, thanks to the federal courts, is that you don't have to wear masks on them anymore. Put that together with all the other stuff and it would be a capital ordeal.

I know what you mean. We also noticed some of the upsides - for us it was seeing a lot more wildlife - lots of otter sightings, seals, a raccoon (only ever saw one), oyster catchers, etc - when the tourist ships stopped coming.

It makes sense the buses were far less crowded, although I would have thought they might have been fewer too. Just as well they weren't. Let's hope the lockdown nonsense is done with. What if they had a pandemic and nobody bothered with their rules - just like all the other times.

The uptick in wildlife does sound like a nice side effect. Oyster catchers are neat little birds. Their white legs and bright beaks give them a sort of clown/mime look, I think. We don't get quite that mix of wildlife, although there are loons and geese down at the river and I sometimes see wild bunnies.

Back then I don't think they cut the routes. Now I think they're having trouble finding drivers. Will we ever have the choice to act naturally again during an announced pandemic? Not if our betters have anything to say about it.
