Toying

There's an early Peanuts strip where Schroeder is noodling away on his piano, rapt as always. Charlie Brown comes up to him and asks if Beethoven ever wrote anything for cigar box banjo. Charlie Brown is actually holding a cigar box banjo when he says it.

John Cage actually did write serious―albeit not overly serious―music for an equally unlikely instrument. Decades later, concert audiences sit in an auditorium watching a young woman play his instrument on a toy. That's an accomplishment worthy of respect.

That was interesting in a weird kind of way, but I must admit to never having been an admirer of John Cage performing his own pieces. However the girl was very precise in her interpretation and the red piano was nice too.

I found a rather sweet classical piece a few days ago that you might enjoy. The elephant certainly appears pleased.

Cage was an interesting creator/composer/philosopher. I confess to not having heard so much of his own playing. The musician here was neat, and it was an odd setting with her not actually being on a stage.

You had me as soon as you said "elephant." That was a beautiful rendition, and a lovely surprise.
