people...

I continue to believe that people as a whole aren't good or bad. Being optimistic or pessimistic about human nature is an oversimplification, and not very productive. People just do what they do, for reasons that make sense to them. And you can only control your own behavior, and your own reactions.

Of course you're right that people in general are neither good nor bad and that the only control we have is over ourselves. It's only when someone's negative behaviour affects us directly that it can become problematic enough that we need to decide whether or not to try to change the situation or simply wait it out.

You might be interested to know we got to see Knives Out last night. It was very good and a pretty nice tribute to Agatha Christie too. The cast was wonderful - including, but not limited to, Daniel Craig's performance as a Poirot sleuth with a bizarre Southern accent.

Have you got around to seeing Parasite yet? We were already very fond of Bong Joon Ho and Song Kang-ho (The Host was great despite some reservations we had with the conclusion) so weren't surprised to enjoy this one as much. I wish more of his films - and other Korean movies were available in the West. I wonder why it is so many people have a problem with subtitles?

I hope all is well there.

That's true. And it can be a difficult decision to make. Letting things go is sometimes the right thing to do, other times just the convenient thing to do.

I had a feeling you'd like it. Very clever story, and they could have promoted it as boasting "five generations of acting talent." I mean, if you go from Christopher Plummer to the Nazi kid. The Southern accent really accentuated (sorry) those bizarre turns of phrase.

When Parasite was in the theater I missed out. I do hope to see it. Quite probably in the summer. I'm guessing the DVD will be quite the hot ticket.

One foot in front of the other.
