I only recently heard about this skit from Your Show of Shows. It's an engagingly weird idea, and very well performed. It must take a lot for Sid not to wince or anything when Imogene throws the water in his face. Maybe it's warm water?
I remember watching the Show of Shows on our our kerosene powered television. Would you believe somebody I said that to once actually believed me? .. about the kerosene, that is. It's good some of these skits were preserved and the choreography of this one is amazing.
It's a good thing those kerosene TV sets were sold through the late 60s. Otherwise watching Jimi play "Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire" would just be missing something.
