And a four-footed friend shall lead them
Not much mystery as to why African painted dogs would make a good teaching situation for kids (inner city kids, in this case.) They're badass hunters from hot, unforgiving grasslands. And as some of the squee-riffic pictures at the link show, they're also cute as all get-out. Geared to a young audience, they truly have something for everyone.

That was a nice article and they're certainly a lot cuter than jackals. It's absolutely true that other animals have a lot to teach us about ourselves.
I think the African tribes that believe in bush souls may be onto something. Not necessarily that we all have second souls housed within animals wandering out there. But our spirits aren't complete without other animals. They have nothing to do.
