3. Money is like a child—rarely unaccompanied. When it disappears, look to those who were supposed to be keeping an eye on it while you were at the grocery store. You might also look for someone who has a lot of extra children sitting around, with long, suspicious explanations for how they got there.
That's from Lemony Snicket's page at Occupy Writers. Snicket (and/or his employee Daniel Handler) seems perfectly suited to the project. The author of the "Unfortunate Events" books knows that life isn't fair, but that fairness isn't some impossibly alien subject.

I read his list on Common Dreams this morning. I liked #3 too but another particular favorite was #4
People who say money doesn’t matter are like people who say cake doesn’t matter—it’s probably because they’ve already had a few slices.
Another I liked was on a sign: They only call it class warfare when we fight back. Of course, I'm another observing from a discreet distance.
As am I. But it's true that the real experts have been waging class warfare for decades with hardly anyone calling them on it.
