Tummy in my mummy

"Egyptian Mummies Diagnosed With Clogged Arteries"

Quick! Send Ramses II a dozen bran muffins.

As a piece of anthropological research, this is pretty interesting, on a level of plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. As far as doctors studying the subjects to learn more about heart disease and how to avoid it, I'll probably ignore their findings. I'm a believer in taking medical advice with a grain of salt. It's a quality of life thing.

The weird one I read the other day is that a group of yahoo archeologists in Italy want to exhume the body (rather, the 500 year old skeleton) of the woman many suspect was the model for the Mona Lisa. They want to find out what she really looked like :-)

Oh, I read about that too. Um, accounting for artistic license, I'm going to guess she looks pretty much like the Mona Lisa. Or looked, rather. She's a little lacking in skin and muscle now.
