I have the local weather forecast page bookmarked in case of need, which really isn't all that often since this isn't a land of extremes. Whenever I do feel the urge to look I always have to change the readout to Farenheit from Celcius. Old habits don't just die hard, sometimes they won't die at all.

Two days of temperatures in the mid to upper 80s this week left both of us a bit prostrate. Once you leave hot summer weather behind for a long period a return to it becomes intolerable.

I'd certainly share your need to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit if all the local sources were giving me the former. When I was a kid there was a big push--including from Schoolhouse Rock--for all the youngsters to learn the metric system, but most of us didn't. I don't really have an opinion on that.

It's 77 now, which means that it must have at least been in the mid-high 80s during the day. That's typical for this week. And yeah, if you get a break for a while it's hard to readjust to crushing heat. Ah well, guess it'll pass.
