It wasn't until this morning I learned that this month is the 100th anniversary of Debussy's death. La Mer was always one of my favorite pieces of his music but now I've had time to listen to Reverie I can see what you mean.
I'm not 100% sure if the anniversary put Debussy's name out there in a way I came across it or if I was just thinking of him on my own. Happy either way. I can see why you would like "La Mer." It starts off so quietly that it's hard to perceive when the music actually starts. Pretty soon it's quite dramatic, in a very low-key way.
