Shh

"Four Yorkshiremen" is the best-known sketch from this show, and there's a reason for that. Still, it seems not to have been the only highlight.

Interesting fact: Eric Idle wasn't actually in the cast of ALT1948S. His appearance here was fortuitous for the future.

What an excellent find. It was a great idea having a burglar show up at a library - and I loved the policeman's signs.. shhhh. peep peep.

Another tv show that preceeded the Pythons (and featured them) was one that starred the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band called Do Not Adjust Your Set. Terry Gilliam did their break signs too.

Yes, and the idea plays out nicely with Graham Chapman finally having to scream, but holds it in until he can get to the bathroom.

Yeah, I'd heard of Do Not Adjust Your Set, but all I'd seen of it before were a few Bonzos songs. It seems to have been a nice child's introduction to surrealism. I especially like the skit where the ensemble's instruments all make the wrong sounds.
