Rewound Friday Random Ten

Watched another movie tonight.  This time I popped it in at the start of dinner, rather than waiting until after dinner.  Still, whenever I start I'm going to fast-forward through trailers and ads.  Life's too short.

The movie itself, Source Code, was pretty good.  Definitely well-acted, even if the dialogue did creak here and there.

1. Johnny Mathis - All the Time
2. Love - Live and Let Live
3. Chic - Real People
4. R.E.M. - Radio Free Europe
5. Radiohead - Morning Bell/Amnesiac
6. The Magnetic Fields - Desert Island
7. TV on the Radio - Love Dog
8. They Might Be Giants - Stone Cold Coup d'Etat
9. Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - Piggy Bank Love
10. Sarah Vaughan - East of the Sun (And West of the Moon)

Ever since trailers became short synopses of entire films we rarely watch them either.

We saw Source Code a year or so ago and enjoyed it too. The premise of having someone wired up and able to switch into other people's bodies was far-fetched but beyond that the story was well done.

Nice FR10 - always good to hear Sarah Vaughn. That's also a favorite REM song.

It's kind of comical that trailers have to work in every scene of the movie now. It's like the studios have no idea what the selling point of the movie would be, so they just dump everything on you. Kind of sad when the movie itself is decent, though.

I'm sure they knew the premise was far-fetched, to put it mildly. I mean, patching into the body of someone who's already dead, that's quite the ride. It came off well.

REM did come out of the gate with some fantastic songs.
