Just saw the movie Road House. Not the Patrick Swayze movie, although may he rest in peace. This one was from 1948, with Ida Lupino as a night club singer/pianist who falls for the manager (Cornel Wilde) when the owner (Richard Widmark) assumed she was his girl. Lupino's very good,and rhw movie takes an interesting, low key approach to the noir genre. It's like a series of more-or-less uncomfortable situations, slowly building up, only exploding at the end. Though Widmark is nuts, of course.

I guess... I guess it was at that. Microblogging gone a step further. (Now it's a little more macro.)
While reading the wiki isn't the least bit like watching the movie I had to do so because I haven't seen this one - or if I ever did it's long forgotten. It sounds very cool, with a very interesting cast as well, but best of all would be seeing Ida Lupino singing 'One For My Baby'. I'm sure you really enjoyed that part.
Although that's not my favorite Roxy Music song (Both Ends Burning might be) it is a very good one. Nice FR10 all in all.
Lupino is very good as a singer. I'm pretty sure that's her voice, although someone else may be playing the piano. The script also avoids making Celeste Holm's character petty and jealous.
Good Roxy Music song, albeit yes, they've done better. The Rasputina song is very cool.
