So we started with a moderate snowfall on Saturday night. By Sunday morning it was rain just above freezing temperatures. By Sunday night it had gotten much colder. In fact we've had considerably sub-zero temperatures and high winds ever since. The results have been interesting. As in, "All your friends and loved ones will beg you not to go outside."

You can certainly count us among that group. I certainly don't want to torment you with descriptions of how different winter looks out here compared to what we recall of January in Halifax but to tell you we've seen crocuses in bloom and the daffodils are sprouting everywhere. On the other hand, it does rain a fair amount at this time of the year.
Speaking of frictionless I wonder if you've seen any videos of the glass bridge in China? There are some cruel people in the world.
Ah, so it sounds like your winter is more like early spring, for better or worse. It's interesting. You wouldn't necessarily think that being closer to one ocean or another, while being at an equal or more northerly latitude, would make that much of a difference. Apparently it does, though.
Think of all the maintenance that must be done on that bridge. To keep it from breaking, obviously, but also to keep it sparkling clean enough for people to look down and get vertigo. You've got to really make it a priority.
