Every one of us has all we need

Got a chance to see the New England Aquarium in Boston today. It's sort of tempting to just stick by the entrance as long as you're in there. The penguins are that fascinating. But there were interesting sights all through. I hadn't known about hamlets practicing that unusual form of hermaphroditism. Puts a new spin on "playing Hamlet."

Their admission setup is weird, though. You get stamped on the wrist with ink that looks like it's going to run and fade in minutes, which it does. They also want everyone to pose for green screen photos, which I hope doesn't lead to a Parallax View situation.

It's been a while since I last saw penguins, may even have been at the Boston Aquarium (probably was), but you're right they are fun to watch. Hopefully it wasn't too hot for them when you were there.

I just looked up hamlets on wikipedia - it seems they prefer to mate with others that resemble them colorwise. A new spin, indeed.

I've had the invisible ink admission stamps a few times but the green screen photos seems to be taking the authorized ID thing a bit far. I mean you're not even getting union rates for your movie appearance.

It's a good question about the penguins being hot. My impression was that their area was kept a little cooler than some other parts of the aquarium. Since they're adapted to Antarctic climates, although even they might find some cold snaps a little extreme, there's a lot of balancing that has to be done.

The color preferences of hamlets are probably so that they mate with other fish that are genetically compatible. Or the same species, for that matter.

Are we all unpaid actors in a movie where the director never calls cut? I think I have some issues with the script.
