Something I just recently learned. You get a much better night's sleep if you can make sure that your fitted sheet covers the whole mattress. Not just the sliver you sleep on, that is.
Of course if I weren't single I'd have figured that one out a long time ago. Or had it driven into my skull. But if I weren't single a lot of things would be different. Maybe better, maybe not, but definitely different.

I can see not tucking in a top sheet completely, or even a blanket, but leaving a fitted bottom sheet loose sounds like disaster waiting to happen. You never had one spring back and tie you up? Amazing.
Yep, things would indeed be different that's for sure. :)
Never gotten accidentally bound up, no. Although it can kind of bug when you feel the gritty surface of the mattress when you're tossing and turning. For some reason queen size sheets don't always totally cover a queen size mattress, which is a nuisance.
Chronic singleness is common to a few friends of mine as well, although obviously not all.
Ah, so that's it. We had much the same thing happen once and that's when we realized not all queen size mattresses have the same depth so one that's made to fit a 10" mattress will not fit one that's 17" or more (some are over 21" nowadays). The sheet package should tell you the depth (pocket size) of the bottom fitted sheet.
