Geocentrism, egocentrism, ethnocentrism: you can see where they come from. Our perspectives put us at the center of it all, which is just an outgrowth of having survival skills. And you can't get away from this perspective. You can train yourself to look past it, though, or aspects of it.

How about eccentric? Where does the 'ec' fit in, I wonder?
Solipsism definitely posits the individual as the centre of everything, but centrism is supposed to be inclusive. At least that's what I always thought.
Offhand I believe that the "ec" in "eccentric" means "outer" or something like that. So your center is a little off, relatively speaking.
Regardless of what you call it, I think inclusiveness is worth striving for.
