B(l)oom

The official fireworks show was a couple of hours ago. Some years I go out for a closer look. Tonight I was just too comfortable ensconced in my apartment with the ceiling fan going. I could see it from a particular window in my bedroom though.

Now comes the afterparty. Several people in the neighborhood are still setting off fireworks. Could go on a while, but I'm not worried about getting to sleep. Not as long as its cool enough in my room, at least.

It sounds like you do pretty much the same as us when it comes to going out to watch the fireworks. Last time we actually went to a display was our first July 1st in Halifax - just because. Well, they were down at the harbor where there were boats and we were still excited about being there. It was fun too. Next time, and the last, was a year later when Belle had come to visit us that week - all part of the entertainment.

Did you see what happened this year in LA when the authorities cancelled the big fireworks shows because they were worried about people congregating during 'covid'? The people had shows of their own all over town. Hah!

Staying comfy at home while looking out the window sounds good too.

Halifax seems like it would be a neat city to see them in, with the nice waterfront it has. It varies from year to year for me. Sometimes I get close enough to bump into the people. Or to get a better look/listen. This year I think it was sluggishness from the heat that made me stay in.

California and most of its cities seem to be governed by true wet blankets nowadays. I'm glad not everyone there allows it to cramp their style.

It was a decent evening, I think.
