As of today, apparently, when you log into blogger you see something like the above image. Which affords a kind of picture-book feel which I approve of. Better yet it appears that the formatting process has gone back to something much more intuitive. I'm not sure that I trust Google as far as I can throw it, mainly because just saying that is going to get me all sorts of weird search results. Still, I recognize these as positive changes.

Until I read this I hadn't looked at the design option in blogger for quite a while. I rather like the new setup but even so I'm not feeling much of an urge to return to posting, although I am a bit tempted. We'll see. What I ended up doing this morning was spending half an hour deleting spam comments. Those bots are persistent.
My distrust has been reaffirmed, since it turns out the new setup only allows you to embed videos from YouTube, owned by Google, but not Vimeo or Dailymotion or any of the other dwindling list of video hosts. Have to try and counteract that.
Bots definitely are annoying, particularly since they raise the false hope that someone was actually engaging with you.
