Paws to reflect

Downtown today I saw a lady walking a cat on a leash. Nice looking grey cat. Not something you see every day. And obviously I wasn't the only one who noticed. The woman holding the leash let two others pet the cat. The cat's look could best be described as "grudging." I get it.

My educated guess is that dog parks don't have a feline equivalent, though.

There's a young woman in this neighborhood we've seen a few times with her cat wearing a harness. I guess they're people who've decided if they can't have a leopard on a leash they might as well try to get the same effect with Moppsy. I know what you mean when you describe the cat's attitude as grudging.

Our favorite around here is the dog who wears goggles and a little helmet to ride in a motorcycle side car. He looks to be having a great time.

No dog parks for cats but you reminded me of the old commercial with the cat herders.

Well there is a family resemblance. Cats have the same basic body plan as leopards and tigers, just on a smaller scale. Some breeds have a similar visual effect, albeit not the fluffier ones. As for having strangers pet them, they're less trusting and more reserved than dogs. And again, I can relate.

Yeah, wearing goggles and riding in a sidecar does sound like something a dog would enjoy. I'm getting an image of Snoopy in my head, although it's hard to picture Charlie Brown on a motorcycle.

Clever idea for an ad. I liked the cowboy winding a ball of yarn.
