According to the YouTube page where I found this, it seems to be an intentional feeding. They left the food out for the raccoon.
They're very much nocturnal animals. And they do have a habit of encroaching in our space. Or rather, our space and theirs overlap. We can live with them pretty easily, though. The advantages of being much smaller than coyotes.

Speaking of the intentional feeding of raccoons you might enjoy spending a few minutes with James Blackwood, the retired RCMP officer who lives in Nova Scotia. He's a brave man as you'll see.
Had never heard of the Raccoon Whisperer before. If it were me I'd probably have the feeding ritual a little further from the house and the cats. Still seems nice. I'd have figured he was Canadian within 30 seconds.
