Chopin's etudes are―at least sometimes―a good way to finish off the day. Individually they go by quite fast, everything being quick impressions. I was going to say that they avoid bombast, but given the above video I'd be making myself a liar. But it is in its way a peaceful peace.

Not having spent much time listening to classical music all I can say is that this was nice to hear. From what I've read this evening etudes were originally written as exercises for pianists to gain strength and dexterity. Apparently Chopin took the form to the next level by turning them into real musical pieces that were nonetheless difficult to perform.
Mainly what I know about classical music is just what I like. The etudes are dynamic in their simplicity, though. And no doubt Chopin was something of a showoff. That seems to be pretty well understood
