It's probably bad form to ask a woman when she's due when she's already had the baby, in general. Which I did to day, with the waitress serving me breakfast. In fact I had noticed that her baby bump was either gone or ominously shrinking. After she told me I was a little tongue tied, but I told her the truth, which was just that I would have expected to take at least a couple of weeks for maternity leave. She replied that she was just out for a couple of days and then got back into the swing of things.
So I think I rescued myself okay. I suspect her benefits aren't that great, though.

A week or so after you were born I went out to buy a few groceries feeling very slim and svelte. A fellow shopper who asked me when the baby was due almost found himself wearing the quart of milk he carried.
You're likely right your waitress has few (if any) maternity benefits.
Nice Sr10 again this week. You know I like the Bonzos, Elvis C. and Mose, but I listened to the Nellie McKay song and Diamond Dave and like them too.
I hope you have a good week and some nice spring weather.
I can pretty much guarantee that the man who asked you that wanted to disappear into thin air immediately after. That's a yikes moment.
Ah, yes, your good taste is apparent. :)
And spring does seem to be rolling along now.
