It's a hope of mine that populations never hit such a crisis point that we're tempted to colonize Antarctica. There's a meditative quality to this rocky and grey shoreline. I'm not sure it would remain long after coming in contact with civilization.

With the single exception that the air is breathable in Antarctica, it seems to me it would be no more hospitable for people than Mars. At least I'll keep hoping so too.
Terraforming Mars would be a nifty summer project. And of course as far as we know we wouldn't be displacing anyone.
