Speaking for myself, while I have some problems, none of them really compares to the possibility of carried off and eaten by a stork. Can't speak for everyone.
This must have been before they got into the business of bringing babies.

When I first saw that picture I couldn't help but wonder if perhaps the little people rode the storks and that that was where the legend sprang from. Just a thought :-)
That is a nice thought. I like it. The discovery of homo floresiensis (although some dispute it) does raise the question of whether they had enough contact with H sapiens to influence our folklore.
