When I first saw the header for this video I said, "Wow, are they actually playing 'Rain', the song John Lennon wrote for the Beatles?" As it happens, the answer is "no." Or if they are, the tune has been altered beyond recognition. But they are playing something tuneful. I mean, I don't think I could play music that well with my nose. Same goes for pretty much everyone I know.

I'm not sure either if it's meant to be that Rain but those elephants play almost as well as The Nairobi Trio.

It's always nice to see animals interacting with music played by humans. I don't know if what we witness here is actual singing but their behavior is very sweet.

The book I was thinking of is Lament for a Maker by Michael Innes
The Nairobi Trio is as bizarre an idea now as it was when Ernie Kovacs first put it on his show. Always makes me laugh, though. I think Harry Nilsson was a fan, too.
I'm not sure the African climate would suit me. Still, there's something to be said for being able to play piano next to a couple of happy elephants.
Lament for a Maker. I think I may have read that, although I'd have to reread it to make sure. Very cool idea, anyway.
