But changing it over isn't much of a priority. If I prune a few, what do I replace them with? Who are the new faces in the game? Blogging has become a minority interest, and I'm one of the last standing.

Roll with it
The blogroll at the bottom of this blog is a little on the antiquated side. A lot of the other blogs have either been taken offline entirely or have been static with no updates since, like, 2011. When I click on one it tells me that the blog is invitation only and I'm not invited, which seems rude at first but it's also apparent the author abandoned Blogspot for Substack. Also, if we're being honest, my interests have changed since I started.

The same is pretty much true for Phantsy That as well with the difference being that I kept up the blog until 2018 while Flying Totems continues to glide. The most enjoyable part of blogging for me was that it kept me drawing and illustrating the stories I wrote - that and the inimitable Crow of course. I had so much fun looking at the world through his eyes.
But times and people change and many of my co-bloggers drifted away entirely while others went to other social media platforms. I keep the blog roll as a kind of historical artifact. Every so often I drop by Phantsy to post a picture and check in with whoever pops by for a visit.. there aren't many. Those older times of entertaining one another and giving virtual trophies is fondly remembered.
Personally, I'm glad Flying Totems still stands.
2018 was probably post-peak blog, as far as the number of people doing so is concerned. But who cares about the average, really? The drawings that you did for Phantsy That put it well above and beyond most of what was out there on the web. You also showed a good feeling for the corvids, and a good feeling in general.
It was, perhaps, a more innocent time. Before AI slop, before algorithms became so ruthlessly efficient. But if you can check in with people now and then, that's worthwhile.
I'm glad to have you as a reader and responder, and have no plans to fold up shop here anytime soon.
