Good time

I won't go into too much detail over how I came to hear this song, although WFMU is involved. And I'm always happy to listen to it.

Rachel Freund, as far as I can tell, doesn't have any of her music on YouTube. But there is an article up on her and her husband. It sounds like they're doing right by the musicians and aspiring musicians in their neck of the woods.

Funny, Sacramento certainly isn't the first city I think of in relation to polka.

The song may be silly but it's very cheerful as polka music must be. There's a Polish club just a few blocks from here that has Saturday night polkas every week from late spring to early fall. No, we haven't been but I know I'd like to dance again - it's pretty easy albeit very energetic.

I've been trying off and on all day to open that Sacramento article you linked to but their server has been down and it's time to write my comment. I'll try again later and maybe turn this into a double comment. I haven't been able to find any other info about Rachel other than her wedding pics. I'm glad the two of them are featuring aspiring musicians. It must be fun for them too.

Okay, the good news is I found MusicLandria, a place that works like a lending library for all sorts of equipment plus they have recording space. That is nice.

If the Polish club you mean is this one--which I'm guessing it is--it looks very nice. There's also an announcement on the front page of their website in the Polish language. And damn, do I not know how to pronounce most words in that.

I don't know exactly what was up with the Sacramento News & Review article. When I try to open it now half the attempts work and the other half send me to a 503 error page. Which is better than getting the error page all the time but makes me wonder what keeps going out. In any case they do seem like a nice couple.

The MusicLandria site shows the place to be pretty well equipped. I'm not sure where you were able to open the part where Freund and Hale mentioned that it was a pun on Alexandria, as in the great lost Library of.
